The island becomes a twinkling wonderland, boasting over 100 giant, holiday-themed light displays that are sure to captivate children and adults alike.

Guests are invited to drive through 1.5 miles of Christmas light displays and explore the festival grounds by foot at the end. There is a Staples Petting Zoo set up and three different shows at the Safari Stage held nightly. Kids and families are welcome to ride a camel or pony, learn about featured zoo animals and indulge in festival fare such as s’mores, hot chocolate and giant turkey legs. The Festival of Lights will also be open Christmas Day, giving you and the whole family a chance to dive further into Savannah’s festive spirit!

Savannah Holly Days

A marvelous annual tradition, the Holly Days run from Thanksgiving through New Year’s and make Savannah the perfect place to be for holiday cheer. Beginning with a tree lighting at the start of December, the city will be full of special candlelight tours, the Annual Festival of Lights and Boat Parade of Lights, the Downtown Holiday Home Tour, carriage rides, a Kid’s Celebration by City Market and so much more. The holidays in Savannah are a festive occasion that bring people from around the world, and the Holly Days are just one example of why.

Holiday Tour of Homes

This year (2014) will mark the 40th anniversary of the famed Savannah event. In addition to touring decked out homes, there will also be a Christmas Celebration of Music, a Holiday Tea at the Massie Heritage Center and a Hot Toddy Tasting. This Savannah event is a must for history buffs and new Savannah visitors alike, as it is a wonderful way to experience some of Savannah’s history and beautiful Victorian homes during the holiday season.
