The Savannah Jazz Festival
Taking place September 21-27 this year, the Savannah Jazz Festival is the place to be when visiting in the fall. A popular festival for people of all ages, the Jazz Festival takes place at the beautiful Habersham Village Shops under the outdoor tent. Sit back and enjoy musical performances by a wide range of talented jazz musicians. Be sure to check out the free concerts in Forsyth Park as well.
Oktoberfest will take place October 3-6 this year at Savannah’s beautiful Historic Riverfront on River Street. A free event for the public, Oktoberfest has everything from bratwurst and beer to fun festivities including wiener dog races, live entertainment, art exhibitions and keg roll and beer stein races. The beer garden features a wide range of beers and food vendors.
Savannah Greek Festival
The Savannah Greek Festival will take place October 9-11 this year and has been running for more than 60 years! Located at St. Paul’s Hellenic Center, the Greek festival features homemade Greek foods, drinks and desserts, as well as live entertainment and a market featuring Greek cheeses, olives, crafts and jewelry. A $2 donation is requested for admission to this fall favourite amongst locals and visitors alike.
Tybee Island Pirate Fest
If you are planning a vacation to Savannah in the fall, be sure to do so around nearby Tybee Island’s Pirate Fest. Taking place October 9-12, the Pirate Fest is tons of fun for the whole family. There will be live music, a pirate parade, a thieves’ market filled with souvenirs, pirate wares, costumes, arts and crafts and so much more. The event kicks off the weekend at the Original Crab Shack with a Buccaneer Ball – it’s not to be missed!
