The Washington Square Carriage House is a free standing cottage with a private entrance on the lane/alley. It is located behind The Washington Square Main House and guests share the center/private courtyard & garage below.
During the horse-and-buggy days, Savannah’s carriage houses were the sleeping quarters of the family's carriage drivers. The drivers were responsible for the care of the horses & the carriages housed in what we now use as auto-garages.

This painstakingly restored & converted carriage house offers one highly coveted garage parking space and is located in Savannah’s Landmark Historic District on picturesque Washington Square. This home is only 2 blocks from Historic River Street & the Savannah River.

The apartment is located on the 2nd floor over the garage so there is a flight of stairs leading up to the home. The carriage house has an open living room and kitchen with island seating for 4.
The fully outfitted kitchen is equipped with all the essentials to whip up a meal.

Each of the 2 bedrooms have en suite bathrooms & queen size beds. The walled courtyard offers a quite oasis to sip a cocktail and chat with guests from the main house.

TVs:
We provide free WIFI but NO cable, so please bring your login info for your favorite apps! All TVs are new and updated with current apps.

PARKING:
This reservation includes ONE private, garage parking space under the apartment.
Parking for additional vehicles: This area has metered, on-street parking. The City of Savannah uses Meter Pay Stations on each block. You can download the APP "ParkSavannah" to pay meters from your phone
OR
Visitor Parking Passes are available for 24hours/$15.00 and 48hours/$24.00. Passes can be purchased at the City of Savannah Parking Services Office at 100 East Bryan Street.

NOISE:
This property is NOT PARTY friendly. We do not allow loud noise, music or parties of any sort. Violators may be evicted and/or fined.
NO BACHELOR/BACHELORETTE GROUPS!!

MAXIMUM OCCUPANY is 4 people at any/all times, including children/infants.

Guest must be 25 years old to reserve. No exceptions.

No smoking or pets.

Cancellations:
If you reserve & cancel AFTER we have processed the reservation, we will NOT refund the credit card processing fee. We use a 3rd party credit card processing company & they do NOT refund these fees to us if a guest cancels.
You will also be charged a $50 cancellation fee PLUS the credit card processing fee.
This is regardless of VRBO’s policy.

Great location and easy to walk everywhere. Beds were your basic spring mattress and could have been upgraded. Living area chairs are uncomfortable. The kitchen is nice and bathrooms are fine. It was great to have a garage to park in, but warning it's small. A/C works great and linens are good. It was quiet and beautiful location. Nice little place. Would stay again, after all your out exploring not hanging out at the house.

This carriage house in the historic district was ideal for two travelers. It is located a short walk from restaurants, shops, and other attractions, and is in the center of a beautiful neighborhood.

The carriage house is exactly as shown in the listing. It is comfortable and spotless. The garage is a definite plus. The neighborhood is very quiet.

We needed to contact the property manager regarding use of door keys and garage opener; she responded quickly, and the helpful handyman came over to resolve the situation.

Since it was my first time visiting, we did a river cruise and also took a Savannah Cruisers ride through the historic district.

It was very cold while we were there, and we are already planning a return.

It is an ideal setting ina beautiful community.

Our visit to Savannah was amazing. I have visited savannah several times over the years but this was the first time that we stayed in a Carriage House rather than a hotel. It was lovely. Nicely decorated and very clean.

Wonderful location!! Within walking distance to just about everything. Forsyth Park was about 15-20 mins, but everything else was much closer!

The house was very clean and accommodating. We had no issues with noise or lack of sleep. The only recommendations our group has is to have two towels per guest, add a full-length mirror, and change the shower curtain holder in the white, tiled bathroom to be more mobile. The hooks kept getting caught making fully closing the curtain challenging. None of these are reasons we wouldn’t stay again as we would definitely book for future travel to Savannah.

The Washington Carriage House was in a great location, quiet part of town and a few blocks away from the river. The house was big enough for two couples with individual bathrooms. The only two concerns were the curtains in both bedrooms did not cover the windows completely and when the sun came up very early in the morning there was no way you could sleep in due to the light. The other concern was the microwave; after removing food and shutting the door, it would continue to run even though clearing the button didn't help. For safety concerns, we would unplug it after each use, and plug it back in when needed. I left a note concerning this with the key and garage door opener as instructed. Other than that, it was a great.

We had not been to Savannah in 25 years and our friends had never been there. Use the hop on hop off trolley. Great way to get around. Ate at the Pirate House just a block away from rental. Great location to walk to everything and having garage space is a big plus. Cozy in the carriage house, clean, compact. Wish had more comfortable seating in living area as at night when want to unwind was not enough comfortable seating for 4 adults. Having the two master suites is good. Just a little tight as they have used the space available to best advantage. Very clean! No issues with check in or check out. Adding a Keurig to kitchen would be great.

We had not been to Savannah in 25 years and our friends had never been there. Use the hop on hop off trolley. Great way to get around. Ate at the Pirate House just a block away from rental. We just spent this past weekend at this property. It is absolutely fabulous. It's a perfect size for 2-4 adults. It's within walking distance to most everything in the historic district, and for the price it's much nicer than any hotel. We even had the pleasure to talk to the owner for a few minutes. We had a wonderful Savannah experience, and we will definitely stay again.

I picked it for the closeness to the Savannah River and all the restaurants and shops on the Riverwalk and Historic area. If you go to Savannah be sure to stop at Churchill's bar and restaurant. Very attentive staff.

Because of the size and stairs, I would not recommend it for individuals with small children.
The use of a garage was beneficial. It was a tight squeeze getting in and out of there. I had to utilize the parking lot across from the alley to gain access. No problems in doing so.

The location of this rental could not be any better, if you are physically able to walk you will love it. Got the car out to go to Tybee Island. The rental is great for a girls trip, the garage was a plus, not hsving to worry about a parking place. Will defintely keep this place in mind the next time I visit Savannah.

Everything from the directions and instructions on leaving was perfect. Cottage was very clean. Having garage parking was convenient and the courtyard was so peaceful. Cottage is perfect for up to 2 couples. I would highly recommend this cottage for maximum of 2 couples.
